Design to suit location
This newly designed retail space is located in Melbourne’s Ligon street. It has been designed to be in keeping with the iconic colours of Sass & Bide being predominantly black, white, and gold with elements of greenery.

I wanted to incorporate new materials to reflect the identity of Sass & Bide which is luxurious, strong, bold and confident. Whilst the colour palette is fairly neutral, each material stands out in a unique way creative an overall aesthetically pleasing look.
In order for this store to be reckognisable I have included the floor to ceiling glass doors and as they are iconic to Sass & Bide. Ligon Street is best known for its high end fashion stores, so it was important for the facade to be striking and enticing. The fluid and organic shape of the entry has been designed in order to guide customers towards the store in an inviting way.
In a bid to maintain the exclusivity that Sass & Bide are known for the store has been split into two levels. A small staircase steps down into the main part of the store so that only glimpses of the store are visible from street view. A wall divider adds to the sense of mystery as only a portion of the lower level is revealed upon entry. I have created vertical openings within the divider to avoid comprising the level of natural light.

The main focal points of the lower level are the ceiling high arched change rooms and the multi level platforms displays.
