CLIENT BRIEF

  • Design a residential coastal adobe

  • Keep the palette neutral and coastal to reflect location surroundings

  • Include plants

This beautiful one-story home has a Hamptons coastal feel with a cool neutral colour palette and a touch of minimalism. As the home is very narrow spanning less than five metres it was important to incorporate materials that would help create the illusion of a larger space. Natural oak flooring, terracotta tiles, calcatta marble and blue make up the soft colour palette.

A large minimal kitchen with a generous island bench is the focal point of the open plan living room with sleek bi-fold doors that open out to the tropical backyard featuring a green wall and an in ground spa.

The internal courtyard allows light to flood into both the second bedroom and living space make the space feel larger. Stunning herringbone timber floors are consistent throughout the entire home. They are not only aesthetic but also durable, sustainable and perfect for a home by the beach.
